再生専用DVDプレーヤ及びドライブ用ピックアップの小型・高信頼性を実現するホログラムレーザユニット化開発を行った。３分割ホログラムを用いた位相差法によるトラッキングサーボ誤差信号特性の解析，及び，２層ディスク再生における隣接層からの干渉を低減するフォーカス誤差補正構造の創出を行った。試作ユニットによるディスク再生評価を行い，再生専用DVD用ホログラムピックアップの実用性が確認された
A holographic optical pickup for DVD-Video players and DVD-ROM drives has been developed. The tracking error signal utilizing a holographic optical element with three grating sections is analyzed. Photodiode pattern is designed to compensate the focusing error signal from the interference between two recorded layers in dual layer disc. Through these effort and experimental evaluation, the practicability of the holographic optical pickup for DVD has been confirmed.
