昨年「循環型社会形成推進基本法」が成立し，循環型社会に向けて大きく動きはじめた。本稿では直面している環境問題の現況を再考するとともに，国内で整備された関連法及び欧州で提案されている電気電子機器に関する法案の動向を紹介し，循環型社会に対応し推進している当社の環境活動について概説する。
Rapid changes have been taking place in Japan toward a recycling-oriented society since the enactment of Law on the Promotion of Rational Use of Resources last year.
This article reviews environmental issues facing the country and describes related Japanese environment-protection laws and the draft regulations concerning electronic equipments proposed in Europe.
It also outlines Sharp's environmental activities that aim to contribute to a recycling-oriented society.
