近年の組み込みソフトウェア機器には一世代前のパーソナルコンピュータを凌ぐ性能を持つものも存在し，ここに組み込みまれるソフトウェアも大規模化している。このような組み込みソフトウェアに対しては従来のシミュレーションデバッグ環境の適用が困難であり，新たな手法による組み込みソフトウェアのデバッグ環境が必要である。 そこで，大規模な組み込みソフトウェアに適用可能な，ソフトウェアシミュレーションデバッグ環境の構築手法を開発した。また，携帯情報機器ザウルスを使用して実際の組み込みソフトウェア開発に適用し，その有効性を確認した。

　Large scale software embedded in a machine offers an excellent performance, which exceeds that of a personal computer in the former generation. In this circumstances, a debugging environment with a novel method is required, since a conventional debugging environment can no longer be applicable to that large software. So we have developed a method to construct a debugging environment by software simulation, which is applicable to a large scale software. This new environment proved effective when it was used in developing a system embedded in a Zaurus.
