広視野角，高コントラストASV（Advanced Super View）液晶パネルを採用するとともに，PCカードスロット搭載によるディジタルカメラの静止画再生機能を備えた液晶テレビ「AQUOS」の第２弾B1シリーズを開発した。
本機は，ASV-LCDの搭載と合わせ，独自のディジタル映像処理回路，ガンマ補正回路，バックライトシステムによりノイズの少ないクリアな高輝度・高画質映像を実現するとともに，新開発小型スピーカの搭載と左右独立バスレフ方式スピーカボックスの採用により迫力のある低音再生を実現した。
また，低消費電力化，無鉛はんだの採用，再生材の使用など人と地球環境に優しいモノ作りを実践した。
We have developed our second liquid crystal TV system, the B1 Series,
which incorporates an ASV (Advanced Super View)- LCD panel, to give it
a wide viewing angle and a high degree of contrast. It is also equipped
with a PC card slot that makes it possible to enjoy digital camera still
images. The ASV-LCD panel works well together with our original digital
image processing circuit, a gamma correction circuit and a back light
system, to ensure a crisp image with high brightness and low noise. Powerful
bass audio has also been included on the B1 Series, thanks to a newly-developed
small speaker with a right-and-left independent bass reflex speaker box.
In addition, we gave the B1 Series a low power consumption design, and
manufactured it using unleaded solder and recycled materials, to make
it more friendly for both environment and people.
