2003年7月，37V型液晶テレビLC-37AD1/LC-37AD2を商品化した。本機は，2003年12月から放送開始した地上デジタル放送に対応したハイビジョンチューナをいち早く搭載し，BSデジタル・110度CSデジタルハイビジョン放送を含め，多彩な番組を，より手軽に，より高画質・高音質で楽しめるAQUOSフラッグシップモデルである。
本稿では，AQUOSプラットフォーム構想をベースとして，高画質，高音質，ユーザビリティの向上，ネットワークへの対応，更には，環境対応を実現したテレビジョンシステムの概要について述べる。
Sharp introduced two 37V-inch LCD TVs, LC-37AD1/LC-37AD2, into the market in July 2003. They are to be the flagship models of the AQUOS series and equipped with a digital terrestrial HDTV tuner, and allow users to enjoy a wide variety of contents of the existing BS digital/CS 110°digital broadcast and the digital terrestrial broadcast started in December of the same year. As this paper outlines, these two models are designed on AQUOS Platform Concept and their main features include high definition, superb sound, improved usability and network capability while meeting environmental needs.
