ディジタル情報家電の動向と課題について概観した。情報家電はネットワークを基盤とした多種多様のサービスを受けるためのプラットホームとして成長し，それらの相互作用の中で機能が複合・分化し，TV，PCといった従来の概念では定義できない新しい情報家電が誕生すると予測している。また，市場の立ち上げには従来にない様々な課題が発生することも指摘している。
This paper describes on the trend of digital information appliances (DIA) and its future. It is prospected that DIA will be developed as the platform for enjoying a various kind of network services and new types of DIA will be proposed depending on new killer services. This paper also describes on the important issues that must be overcome to find new DIA market.
