1999年4月施行の改正省エネ法によりトップランナー方式の待機時消費電力目標値が定められて２年，各社各様の方式による省エネルギー対策が施されたVTRが出そろった。VTRの消費電力値は公表されるため，技術開発にはさらに力が注がれている。
今回の省エネルギーVTRの開発にあたっては消費電力の少ないLCD表示を採用するとともに電源制御システムを変更し，業界No.1の省エネルギーのHIFIビデオVC-V1シリーズおよびS-VHSビデオVC-VS1を商品化した。
Two years have passed since April 1999 when the new energy saving law called“Top Runner System”was effective. Manufacturers put VCRs equipped with various systems of energy saving into the market. Each VCR’s power consumption is opened to the public, accelerating new technology development.
We developed a new power saving VCR system, in which the key technologies are LCD display and the new power supply control system. HiFi VCR VC-V1 and S-VHS VCR VC-VS1 equipped with the new technologies are the No.1 power saving products in VCRs.
