LC（液晶）フォントとは液晶ディスプレイ表示に適した可読性の高いビットマップフォントを意味し，シャープ技報69号（1997年12月）「LC（液晶）フォント」にて基本的な概念と，ビットマップフォントの生成システムを紹介した。本論ではカラー液晶ディスプレイの特性を利用したLCフォント（LCFONT.
C）を生成する技術について述べる。
An LC (Liquid Crystal) font is a bit-mapped font with high legibility
for liquid crystal display (LCD) . We presented the basic idea and the
generation technology of bit-mapped LC font in Sharp Technical Journal
No.69 (Dec.1997). This paper describes the generation technology of LCFONT.C,
that is the LC font which makes good use of the characteristics of the
color LCD.
